The band members playfully describe The Blenders' musical style as "a soulful groove biscuit with jazz gravy." As the name implies, it is a combination of musicians that are constantly melding musical influences into their sound. Drawing from artists as diverse as Steely Dan, Smokey Robinson and Van Morrison, the band puts its own unique spin on both vocal and instrumental tunes alike. It could be anything from a reggae version of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone," a swing version of The Police's "Roxanne," or Dave Brubeck's jazz standard "Take Five."
Blane Butler, Joe Long, and John Beaudette have played together in various combinations for many years, and the addition of Don Tucker on drums has pushed the group to new heights. The Blenders are a must hear and promise listeners of all ages a great musical experience.
