2026 Cinemas in the Sand Lineup:
• Friday, March 14: “Space Jam” – This 1996 Warner Bros. live-action and animated sports comedy film follows basketball superstar Michael Jordan as he is brought out of retirement by the Looney Tunes characters to help them win a basketball match against invading aliens intent on enslaving them as amusement park attractions.
• Friday, April 11: “The Parent Trap” – This 1998 romantic comedy film tells the story of identical twin sisters, separated at birth, who meet at summer camp and hatch a plan to reunite their long-lost parents. Starring Lindsay Lohan in a dual role, the movie is filled with heartwarming moments and hilarious hijinks.
• Friday, May 9: “Moana 2” – This 2024 Disney-animated musical adventure reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
• Friday, August 8: “Shrek” – This 2001 animated comedy film by DreamWorks Animation follows the journey of an ogre named Shrek who embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona with the help of a talkative donkey. Along the way, they encounter various fairy tale creatures and learn valuable lessons about friendship and acceptance.
• Friday, September 12: “Toy Story” – This 1995 Pixar animated adventure comedy takes place in a world where toys come to life when humans are not present and focuses on the relationship between an old-fashioned, pullstring cowboy doll named Woody, played by Tom Hanks, and a modern space cadet action figure named Buzz Lightyear, played by Tim Allen. Woody develops jealousy towards Buzz when he becomes their owner Andy’s favorite toy.
• Friday, October 10: “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” – This 2024 American gothic dark fantasy comedy directed by Tim Burton is the sequel to the 1988 mega-hit Beetlejuice and stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara reprising their roles. After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down.
